The sad state of affaires that is our oh-so-lovely MTO is mind boggling at the best of times and down right rage inducing at the worst. I wasn't even looking for one, but it popped up, so I decided to try out a bike that was from this century, instead of the old stuff I normally ride. Ps: gqelements, I bought the bike here in Ottawa. I pointed out to them that from 2009-2013 the bike was licensed, by the MTO, as a road legal motorcycle. Not so fast is what they told me, now they want a letter from BMW stating that the bike was manufactured as a road legal vehicle. ![]() That sounded promising, so I did all that and went back. When they shut me down I called the MTO and they said go back with a picture of the compliance label and the stamped vin, and also swear an affidavit in front of a commissioner of oaths that the bike was originally manufactured as a road legal motorcycle.
